The Sierras Transitional Housing
Designed by Kadre Architects, the Sierras is a rapid conversion of an existing hotel into 38 transitional housing units for families currently experiencing homelessness in the high desert of Antelope Valley. The sprawling, colorful, four acre campus employs modernist paint accents and graphics to create a contemporary, uplifting community for incoming residents. Partnering with the design team, Nous provided structural engineering services for the fast paced and affordable adaptive reuse of the hotel as well as folded plate shade structures and privacy screens.
